About The Corn Islands Virtual Museum

The Corn Islands Virtual Museum is a cultural and historical extension of The Corn Islands Virtual Library, aiming to digitally preserve and showcase the tangible heritage of the islands through exhibits, photographs, and community and ancestral artefacts.

The website features four exhibitions showcasing precolonial findings, elements from the pre-colonial, colonial and postcolonial periods, and artistic work created by islanders over the decades.

The Online Museum collaborates with the Archaeological Project of the Municipality of Corn Island (PAMCI), a key partner in documenting the archaeological discoveries of the islands' pre-colonial societies.

The museum's main goal is to promote and preserve the heritage of the Corn Islands, ensuring that it remains accessible and that people can engage with and learn about it.
