Charles Hodgson

Charles Hodgson is a proud native of Corn Island, known for his work as a musician, educator, and cultural promoter.


In the 1980s, he taught geography, history, and music at several local institutions, including Rigoberto Cabezas School, Ebenezer Baptist School, and the National Institute. During this time, he was also a founding member of the music band Children of Tomorrow, contributing to the island’s cultural and artistic expression.


Later, Charles continued his dedication to music education by teaching at the House of Culture and managing the Island Stars Music Group from 2009 to 2019.


From 2007 to 2020, he served as the head of the Cultural Committee, where he played a key role in uniting the community through events such as Emancipation Day, The Cross Over in Little Corn Island, Maypole, and Christmas Carols.


His lifelong commitment to culture and education has left a lasting mark on the Corn Island community.
