Description:

A miniature tripod metate with a mammalian head motif, probably that of a feline. The rear legs of the metate are slightly shorter (~25mm each) than the one in front (~34mm). Wear is more prominent towards the rear end of the metate as the surface is much smoother here than the rest of the metate. One of the 'ears' on the mammalian head is missing, but the other remains. The on the head of the mammalian motif remains preserved and is one of the key characteristics that suggests this is a feline motif.
